From sharing a moment…

The idea of creating our own little business was in our mind for a while. After a family vacation in the USA, the idea became a project.

During the following months, we worked hard on that new project, we left our respective jobs, packed our suitcases and came to conquer New York. For us, OCabanon is more than a business. It is also a big step in our personal live wit the chance to take our destiny in our hand to create something concrete and reel.

What we wanted the most was to bring together food, wines and friendship around the table. Sharing this life style with every customer was part of our raison d’être. We also wanted to combine quality and simplicity by offering dishes from all over France. 

 … linked to the past

What is a “cabanon”? It is a small hut, a shed in the backyard. In south of France, it is more than that. It is the place where family and friends gather together to cook, eat, talk for hours and share great moments and memories.

For us, it was a small kitchen where our grand-mother used to prepare her favorite dishes. There was always something simmering that smells like heaven. The door was always open and she welcomed everyone at the table.

… and ready for tomorrow…

Open since 2013, we are pleased to have managed to bring this French life style to New York and to stay true to our grand-mother’s values: good food, great wines, laughter and friendship around the table. We have already created a lot of memories with our customers who come from France or other countries or who live in the USA, who come only once or who come every week. One thing is sure though OCabanon will keep on doing its best for you to feel part of the family.
